Alaina holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont and an MS in Civil Engineering with a water resources specialization from the University of New Hampshire. Her career began in Breckenridge, Colorado, where she spent years collecting hydrographic data on rivers and streams across nine western states. That field experience built the foundation of her expertise in hydrology and hydraulic modeling, from high-alpine watersheds to desert arroyos. She also worked in civil development, including grading and drainage design, site layouts, and water and sewer infrastructure.
Her career later took her to Alaska for four years on a major hydropower project, expanding her expertise to large-scale infrastructure and arctic hydrology and hydraulics.
Now based in western New York, Alaina founded her own consulting practice after three decades in the corporate world. She believes that when clients truly understand their water resource challenges and proposed solutions, everyone benefits. As an independent consultant, she has the freedom to dedicate the time needed to make clients informed partners in every project decision, delivering not only sound engineering solutions but also the understanding that leads to better long-term outcomes for communities, property owners, and the environment.
