Professional Bio
Alaina has spent her career learning how rivers behave, in places ranging from Alaska's Colville River on the Arctic coastal plain to the Rio Grande in the deserts of New Mexico. She has managed FEMA mapping programs, run remote field campaigns and designed post-flood stream and bridge repairs, and she brings that range to every project Hydras takes on. She founded the firm in 2023 to build a team that treats fieldwork and modeling as equal partners. When she's not on a riverbank, she serves on the East Aurora Zoning Board of Appeals and coaches youth Nordic skiing.
